Road safety critically depends on accurate and updated data that allows managers to make strategic and operational adjustments to reduce accidents. This emphasis area seeks to integrate information from various databases to improve decision-making capabilities for effective and informed actions.
Develop a technical guide for road safety processes and procedures in Puerto Rico, to be adopted by the Highway and Transportation Authority (ACT) for HSIP-funded projects.
Develop a technical guide on how to use Puerto Rico’s traffic data to integrate and execute applicable road safety analysis methodologies in the project development processes of ACT and other agencies (e.g., SIPAs, Before & After Studies, RSAs).
Support efforts for the development of the Model Inventory of Roadway Elements – Fundamental Data Elements (MIRE – FDE).
Support all strategies outlined in the work plan of the Traffic Records Coordinating Committee (TRCC).
